Dheephan Chakkravarthy is an Indian playback singer. He is the son of the first playback singer in the Tamil film industry, "Isai Thendral" Thiruchi Loganathan and grandson of actress Shrimathi.C. T. Rajakantham. He is the younger brother of playback singer T.L. Maharajan

In 1975 he was first introduced to perform in All India Radio By Thiru. T. R. Pappa. The same, year he was introduced to Doordarshan (IndianTelevision) by Thiru. Thanjai Vanan. In 1980, he entered Tamil film industry as a playback singer, introduced by Isai Gnani "Maestro" Thiru. Ilaiyaraaja. The First song sung by him was "Oh Nenjame Ethu Un Raghame" with Thirumathi S.Janaki from the film Enakaka Kathiru - Music by Thiru. Ilaya Raja. Directed by Thiru. Nivas. Lyric by Thiru. Gangai Amaran But the song which was first released was "Poongathave Thazh Thiravai" from the Film Nizhalgal Music by Thiru. Ilaiyaraaja, Directed Thiru. Bharathi Raja, Lyric by Thiru. Gangai Amaran which gave him "Super Hit and his First Award".
